Below is Chapter Three to Indiscretion. This will also be the last teaser chapter I post as the e-book will be released this Tuesday, January 21st. Enjoy it and if you love what you’ve read so far (it’s cool if you just really like it a lot, too), please click here for more info. Happy reading 🙂
“You’ve got to be kidding me,” Elisa whispers, pacing the floor. “This isn’t happening.” Groaning, she slumps to the floor of the bathroom, wanting to scream for not being more careful. “What in the hell am I going to do?” she wonders aloud.
“Elisa? Are you okay in there?” Desi’s voice calls from the other side of the door.
Elisa reaches up and opens the door slightly to let her best friend in.
“What are you doing? Why are you on the floor?” Desi asks, walking in. Elisa points to the space between the double sinks in the oversized, immaculate bathroom. Desi immediately spots the oblong piece of plastic. Her face lights up and she begins to squeal. “Oh my God, girl! You’re pregnant!”
“Looks like,” Elisa replies, with a slight thump of her head against the wall.
Desi claps her hands and grins. “That’s wonderful news! You two are going to be great parents. Ryan is going to be so excited. I’m going to throw you and my godbaby the best baby shower. Because I know I’m the godmother. I mean, we’ve been friends since middle school,” she continues to ramble for another moment before noticing that Elisa hadn’t joined in her excitement. Studying her face, Desi knows the last thing Elisa feels is excitement. Her forehead is etched with worry lines, her mouth curved downward, the brightness gone from her brown eyes. “Wait, this isn’t good news?” Desi finally asks.
“I doubt it.”
“Why not? Ryan loves kids. He wants them.”
“He wouldn’t want this one.”
“Girl, you’re talking crazy.”
Elisa looks up at Desi. “It’s not his.”
Desi’s eyes widen and her jaw drops. “Oh, damn.”
